Facebook pixels are snippets of code which you should implement on your website to track users’ interactions.

1. Why?

Pixels will give you insight into what people do on your website, what they click and how you can improve that experience. If someone lands on your homepage but doesn’t interact with anything, maybe it’s time to make a new “offer”. If someone spends 5 minutes on your FAQ page, maybe you should add more content there. If someone clicks on a button but doesn’t complete the purchase, maybe try to make it more visible or convince them with better wording or offer.

2. How?

To start with Facebook pixels, go to the Ads Manager section of Facebook Business Tools, choose whichever account you want to use, and follow the instructions.

The process is straightforward: select whether you have a website or app, choose “Create pixel”, name it however you want it to show up in your Ads Manager , paste the code in either your footer or just before closing </body> , … and that’s it.

You can now see results in your Ads Manager and create new campaigns based on those interactions!

3. Why should I care?

Unless you’re only looking for likes or clicks (which is not a bad thing at all), Facebook pixel will let you target more specific users, like people who visited one of your product pages but didn’t purchase. You can run ads just to those people or exclude them from your campaigns, meaning that you won’t be wasting your budget by trying to sell things to people who already made up their mind.

And let’s not forget one of the most important points: Facebook pixels are free! No matter what size your company is, for as long as you can show that your business exists, you can create as many pixels as you want and count on the support of Facebook.
